Sanifruit launches Sanipepper, a new treatment for peppers, revolutionary in the market and with proven high levels of efficacy against external agents in the post-harvest period. According to Javier Biel, CEO of the company, “complaints at destination can be reduced by up to 50% by applying our product, which is currently a pioneer and the result of intense innovation work by the Sanifruit R&D&I team.
Sanipepper extends the commercial life of the pepper for several days, so that the plants have more guarantees that the product arrives in perfect condition at its destination. Currently, the main markets for Spanish peppers are Germany, France and the United Kingdom, with 60% of the production exported from our country.
Also, Almería is the second largest exporter in the world after Mexico. Production growth in Spain in the last 10 years has been 106%, reaching total sales of 1,200 million euros in the 2019/2020 campaign and a sales volume of 870 million kilos. Due to the economic losses that occur in large exporters, they asked SANIFRUIT for a collaboration to find a treatment that, without the contribution of waste, could reduce these losses due to the development of external agents.
Online aplication.
SANIPEPPER is formulated based on food-grade plant extracts and is sprayed in the form of an aqueous solution on the already disinfected, washed and drained fruit, using the SANICOVER application equipment, developed by SANIFRUIT, which applies the dose indicated by the volume of work of the line at all times, avoiding excesses or defects in application. Until now, the only treatment that has been used in the washing and clothing lines has been disinfection with oxidizing products. The applied solution of SANIPEPPER is dried through a drying tunnel, under the normal working conditions of the plant.
